HR Advisor, Global Functions – Global Public Affairs (GPA), Legal, Security and Investigative Services (CSIS)

As a critical member of the Legal, CSIS and Global Public Affairs (GPA) Management Teams, the selected individual will provide comprehensive and strategic HR advice and guidance to senior leaders in partnership with other HR colleagues and specialists.
Legal is a global organization of over 1,400 professionals who manage legal matters and mitigate risk while collaborating with colleagues across Citi’s businesses and functions. Our Legal partners provide global support, advice and guidance on a broad spectrum of transactional matters, including, but not limited to, retail and banking, securities and derivative products, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.


GPA includes 600 employees who seek to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its business and the brand across the world through direct and indirect communications with Citi’s various stakeholders including consumers, clients, investors, employees, government officials and the media. In addition, GPA includes our Foundation, Government Affairs, Executive Services, Citi Community Development and Inclusive Finance.

Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) is a full-service team with approximately 650 employees that protects the assets, information, integrity, and reputation of Citi and its clients. We accomplish this by offering industry-leading professional security services, fraud prevention, and independent investigations to all of Citi's businesses and regions globally, and by collaborating with our internal business colleagues, law enforcement agencies, and the industry externally.

The Global Functions HR Advisor for Legal, CSIS and GPA is a strategic partner for our senior business leaders and focuses on building managerial and organizational capability.  This role works to champion high performance in the organization focusing on the selection and development of talent. In addition, it collaborates with colleagues in the function and other disciplines of HR to drive change, innovation, productivity and a strong working culture.  At the same time, the role will collaborate to create an optimal operating model and structure across their client groups.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the Legal, CSIS & GPA Management Teams and other senior leaders.
  • Focus on building organizational and managerial capability for leaders as a critical member of their Management Teams
  • Ensure a deep talent pipeline and strong succession for senior roles.
  • Translate strategy to Be The Best for our Client into HR priorities including talent and performance management, diversity, enhanced manager capability and driving a culture of innovation
  • Help drive changes related to Workday implementation and act as a Champion both within HR community as well as with clients
  • Strengthen VOE results by partnering with clients to drive initiatives for change  
  • Partner and actively contribute on Innovation and Be The Best for our Client initiatives and identify opportunities to integrate with talent and diversity goals
  • Coach and influence senior leaders to improve their individual leadership skills, focus on people management and organizational issues including talent and performance differentiation, diversity, learning and development, reward and recognition
  • Identify key HR issues with short to long-range impact to the business and resolve highly complex issues with substantial organizational impact
  • Build capabilities in compensation, staffing, identifying/building talent, performance management, aligning/defining organizational structure and management effectiveness
  • Partner with leaders to continually assess organizational structure and identify solutions to ensure people resources are aligned to Legal & GPA’s location strategy and organization principles
  • Drive HR capability by partnering with members of the extended HR team to develop and implement new and/or improved programs and processes
  • Manage internal and external relationships across HR disciplines
  • Partner with global HR & COE colleagues to deliver HR solutions that enable clients to meet marketplace and regulatory demands including colleagues in HR Professional Services (HRPS) and the regional HR teams in Asia, EMEA and LATAM/Mexico. 

Qualifications

  • HR Advisor with experience influencing and coaching at the senior manager level
  • Experience in partnering with senior leaders in the development and implementation of HR strategies
  • Proven track record in supporting organizational transformation and change
  • Exceptional partnership skills both with clients and within HR
  • A demonstrated track record of developing and managing relationships with clients
  • Strong analytical ability with capability to identify business trends and opportunities.
  • Results Orientation - ability to define goals and metrics, develop actionable plans and manage work to achieve desired outcomes; has a sense of urgency and fosters the same in others.
  • Communications - ability to articulate ideas clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles and strong influence, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Teamwork - acts as a catalyst for formulating a collaborative environment to achieve a common purpose.

  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and follow up.
  • 15 years of human resource advisor experience in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field or Masters/MBA.
