Starbucks is considered the main representative of "second wave coffee", initially distinguishing itself from other coffee-serving venues in the US by taste, quality, and customer experience while popularizing darkly roasted coffee. Since the 2000s, third wave coffeemakers have targeted quality-minded coffee drinkers with hand-made coffee based on lighter roasts, while Starbucks nowadays uses automated espresso machines for efficiency and safety reasons


Job Summary and Mission 
 This position contributes to Starbucks success by closely coordinating with the appropriate leader to develop, deliver and administer effective performance-based safety technical education. Provides on-the job training to partners on the manufacturing floor and in a classroom setting. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
             Works to understands safety as our core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety policy and culture; coaches others to do the same.
             Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate safety program expectations and applicable federal and state law. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits. 
             Support site EHS programs and initiatives that establish a positive safety culture
             Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements
             Maintain site’s EHS inspection and auditing processes
             Schedules, tracks, and maintains EHS training programs

Summary of Experience (Years)
                Manufacturing or distribution environment (2 years)
                Project related support (2 years)
                Knowledge/experience with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), including the 5-Whys
                Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and/or Food Safety experience a plus
                Experience working at a VPP Star facility a plus

Basic Qualifications
                High School diploma/GED required
                Some college or technical education preferred
                One year (minimum) working in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
                Experience with OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910 and Title 296 WAC

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
                Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business and EHS principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
                Strong interpersonal skills
                Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is required)
                Must be able to work independently, with little direction
                Must have effective facilitation/presentation skills
                Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
                Attention to detail
